Our desire is to serve the residents of our communities in the best, most cost effective ways possible. Our volunteers do not receive any remuneration. It is however, necessary to provide out-of-pocket expenses to cover their gas costs. Because of this, CARE Transit has to operate on a fee for service basis, with either the referring source paying the fee or the client themselves being asked for a donation to cover these expenses.

CARE Transit seeks on-going donations from individuals, businesses and other groups to meet these needs.

Clients may register with CARE Transit and use the services in one of two ways. Most clients are referred through what we call “referral sources”. These sources may include, but not restricted to physicians, and  the various registered agents. The second process for registering is for a family member, or in some cases the individual themselves, to request registration.

The process is simple and if the criteria for registration are met we can start transporting very quickly. Once registered, we do require a minimum of 48 hours notice on all ride requests. Please see below for these criteria.
